Mission Statement for the
Integrations Department/SDA & Operations Model Group
- Develop, maintain and document an official, permanent repository for collider/shot data* in the Accelerator Division
- Assure the accuracy and the integrity of the collider/shot data
- Develop, maintain and integrate analysis tools for collider/shot data
- Provide the primary intellectual guidance for new analysis of the collider/shot data that will lead to a better understanding of the performance of the Complex and to improved Complex performance.
- Develop and maintain operational models of the accelerator complex
- Develop guidelines for shot strategy
- Share responsibility within the Integrations Department for handling unusual operational situations.
To accomplish this mission, the SDA/Model Group generally works on the following tasks:
- Insure the accuracy and the integrity of the Supertable and the Derived tables
- Verify that the collider/shot data are created and stored properly by using the Store Checker.
- Develop and maintain the Offline Shot Data Analysis (OSDA) Java classes and the OSDA Physics Java classes.
- Develop and maintain web-based and stand-alone applications that give access to the collider/shot data to the rest of the Division, the Laboratory and the world.
- Write memos and give presentations that encourage the Division-wide use of the data stores and the applications tools developed in this Group.
*Definition:
"Collider/Shot Data"-the data collected during a Tevatron proton-antiproton store and during the "shot setup" leading to the store. It also includes data collected for shots of antiprotons from the Accumulator and/or the Recycler that are not intended for use in the Tevatron. The data collected in this manner are kept permanently.
